DO YOU DO INSTALLATION AND REPAIR WORK?

We off free local delivery on all heavy and bulky items bought from us, as well as an assambly service should you need help piecing together your new equipment.

 

All other installations, repairs, and maintenance we offer under Pelagic Projects.

WHY DONT YOU SELL GOLDFISH BOWLS?

The classic goldfish bowl, while looking attractive from the outside, is not a suitable accommodation for any fish. Often too small for even the smallest goldfish and awkward to fit filters and equipment too, they also have a tiny surface area of water in relation to their volume, meaning that oxygen will quickly run out in the water.

Given there are much better options on the market today that we stock in store, including  many small glass tanks and starter kits suitable for goldfish starting at £35 or under including a filter.

We feel that the ‘Traditional Goldfish Bowl’ should be consigned to history.

ARE THERE ANY JOBS AVAILABLE AT PELAGIC AQUATICS?

We sometimes have jobs available, for both full and part time staff.

We keep CV’s on file for 6 months and will be in contact should any positions become available. 

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT OPTIONS?

In store, we accept cash and all major credit cards. Online we accept all major cards.

DO YOU OFFER DELIVERY?

In store we offer free local delivery on all heavy and bulky items, online we currently operate all sales as a click and collect only service. However we may be able to help deliver to local areas, product and price depending.

DO YOU OFFER WORK EXPERIENCE PLACEMENTS?

We are happy to offer work experience placements for school or college. We have limited spaces so if you are interested in working with us, please get in touch as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

CAN YOU GUARENTEE THE SEX OF YOUR ANIMALS?

In some species the dimorphism - that is the visible differences between males and females - are very obvious to even a casual observation. In others, the differences can be tiny, subjective, or even non existent.

While we will do our best in all cases to offer an accurate assessment of the sex of any animal, this is never 100% guaranteed.

Any statements by us regarding an animal's sex is purely on a 'best guess' basis and on general observations only; no guarantee is offered or implied. 

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND AND EXCHANGE POLICY?

In Store Purchases

Faulty items

Many of our electrical items come with guarantees which are in addition to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Please refer to your items packaging or instructions for details on it's guarantee as length and conditions can vary between items and manufacturers.

 

Please keep all your till receipts for anything bought from us and we can exchange any faulty items that are within their guarantee period. We are also able to repair lots of items so it may be worth bringing an item down to us even if it is outside it’s guarantee period, or you have lost you receipt, and we can see if a repair is possible.

 

Returns

Should you change your mind about your purchase, you can return it to us within 28 days  of purchase and we will provide you with a credit note to spend in store.

 

The item must be accompanied by a receipt, as well as being unused, undamaged, and within its undamaged retail packaging. 

 

Please also be aware that no exchanges can be made for items that have been modified or altered to your specification, for example; hose pipe, pond liner or similar that has been cut to size; vivariums which have been built and fitted out by us in store to your specification or items modified by us at your instruction. Items of this nature will only be exchanged if faulty. Your statutory rights are not affected. 

 

*Due to the nature of certain items, a 25% restocking fee may apply at the managers discretion.

Online Purchases

We offer a 14 day 'cooling off period' when you purchase something online with us. This period starts the day after you collect or receive your item.

​

A cooling-off period does not apply when you buy:

  • an item that deteriorates quickly - such as plants

  • an item that was personalised, bespoke or custom-made for you

​

You must let us know you wish to return the item within 14 days of collecting or receiving it. Once you’ve told informed us, you then have another 14 days to return the item for a refund, exchange or credit note.
